About the project

The Change Makers Media project is the development of creatives and digital enthusiasts from across the Baptist Together family sharing a mutual passion for using digital media to engage with social justice and gospel sharing through creativity.

Highlighting the ways the church is making change

Change Makers exists for three reasons:

  • to embrace the digital revolution by providing a Baptist voice to local, national and global issues.
  • to provide teaching and training on producing and editing films that can be used for mission and ministry
  • to engage with social media by being a social influence for the Gospel in a Baptist context

What this looks like is not only the production of a high-quality set of resources, but even more than this — empowering the wider Baptist family to be a part of the digital revolution.

The Change Makers team will be producing 6 film series that will each provide a Baptist perspective on a global issue (bringing in other people from the Baptist community). These films will be used as part of a national mission and conversation; the draw of the films will provide a narrative of community in radical distance that will encourage conversation and engage both missional listening as well as evangelism.

Accompanying each series will be a set of resources, including conversation questions to help engage the local community in reflecting on the issues covered: what they mean and how Christ’s presence can be seen in the situation — making a difference in the world.

During production, we’ll also be making a ‘fly on the wall’ documentary covering initial storyboarding and ideas, through to practical tips on filming, editing and how to be led by God while doing it. This behind the scenes look gives an insight in to the film-making process, encouraging and equipping others to produce films in their own context to use for mission. This will be released in our Church Video Training Hub, with plenty of other helpful film-making resources for churches.

Baptists Together

Baptists Together is a national family of believers, committed to Christ, to one another and to the service of God.

Their vision is to grow healthy churches in relationship for God mission. They believe churches are called to be Beacons of Hope in their communities, sharing the good news of Jesus in the places he has put us.

The Union of over 2000 churches is supported by staff in thirteen regional associations and three specialist teams based in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Their six Baptist Colleges prepare men and women for ministry and offer ongoing development and training.

When it comes to our Christian lives, many of us are running on empty. The conviction, confidence and passion we once had is running out.

What we need is fuel… The Fuelcast seeks to provide this via a short but powerful, biblical, devotional video every week day of the year.
