Video Training Hub
On this page, you’ll find a list of resources and training materials to help churches to get more engaged with making videos. You’ll also find our church stock video library, featuring footage you can use in your films.
No matter your level of filming experience, we want to encourage and help you to understand the basics of film, so that you can create content to use for mission in your own context. We can’t wait to see what you make!
We want to equip you to create the content you want to make: whether that be films, short videos, social graphics or presentations for church.
Creating films or short videos for your church can help tell the story of who you are as an organisation, what you do as a community and the reasons why you do it. This could be sharing testimonies from your church family, offering discipleship reflections or sharing the latest on your missional projects. It may be that you’re creating content to share internally to your church family or externally to your local community.
We are holding a training day on Exploring ‘why’ and ‘how’ we use film as a catalyst for social change as mission in your local community.
This training day will cover pre- production, production and post-production with the opportunity for questions and answers throughout the day.
The day will cover:
- Identify the story
- Target Audience (channels of distribution)
- Storyboard (b-roll, visual storytelling, sequences)
- Planning (locations, permissions/legals)
- Vision and Objectives
- Distribution
The cost is £15 per person and will be on 17th February at Baptist House, lunch is included and there is free parking onsite.
The day will run from 10am till 4:30pm
Church Stock Library
Let’s talk about church stock media.
Following the techniques we cover in our church filmaking resources will help you to create some brilliant videos, but there are times when it’s not practical to get new footage for what we want to show.
This is where stock footage comes in. Whilst the word stock can conjure up negative connotations of terrible photos of overly slick businesspeople, used wisely, stock videos can really enhance your church’s media.
Often, it’s a case of knowing where to find what you’re looking for (which can be hard given there’s a huge amount of both good and bad stock footage out there!).
With that in mind, we’ve created a library of church stock footage that you can use in your own films — and we’ll continue to add to it as time goes on.
This is currently in the planning stages, you can register your interest and we will let you know when it is available.
